Shadows
Shadow Photography
The dark contrast created by the lights shadows can be used to create aesthetically pleasing shapes and images. These photographs idealise shadows and form their own scenes, I attempted to capture creative themes throughout the casting of shadows and the occasional props.
When creating shadows it is best to only utilise one hard light source, as multiple will detract from the figure/ focal point.

This is my most successful image, it is wildly different to many others seen below. By casting a shadow of a face from a piece of paper I wanted the shadow to stand out amongst the rest of the scene, which is why I used white paper. I love the slight rule of thirds composition and the deep contrast created from the shadow.

I believe this is my least successful image, the shadow looks very good however I dislike how boring and unengaging the photograph is. I would have preferred to have a deeper colour contrast of green against white, even a darker shade would have worked better. But it may have detracted from the shadow.
