Throughout the course of the 2016 Creative arts and photography class, I have thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the anatomy of a camera, specifically how to change aperture, different lenses, filters as well as the beautiful images and products which are able to be created through photography. Learning about different photographers was fascinating and the different compositions, styles and products they created was inspiring. Most of all I loved having the opportunity to design the 2016 Trinity College Yearbook, being able to take charge of my own designs and create a beautiful digital illustration within Adobe Illustrator was very useful and engaging to learn. Being able to deter from strictly photography was refreshing as I wanted to create more illustration based products using the skills I learned in the previous tasks.
These skills I have learned of composition, colour, style and digital editing will be greatly beneficial for my future, especially considering I wish to continue into the Graphic Design field. Learning to create an aesthetically pleasing, persuasive or engaging piece was fascinating and very beneficial for my future. I would utilise the skills learned from the Yearbook cover the most, as I created a digital work which has the possibilities of being published I had to consider colour, composition and appeal very carefully. However I would have loved to learn more about posters, filming, advertising and other aspects of photography and digital arts it would have been very interesting to learn of wider aspects inside photography.
