Contre Jour
Contre Jour
Contre Jour is a lighting technique of having a bright and direct source of lighting being a figure or focal point, which turns the focal point totally into a black silhouette. Sharp sunlight at magic hour worked very well for this technique as it brings out a yellow tinge to the background offering a warmer aesthetic appeal.
I thoroughly enjoyed this technique of photography, it made great looking silhouettes and worked very well with a faster shutter speed.

This is my most successful image, even though the focal point is not in focus. The star burst effect of the sun looks very effective, the slight yellow outline of the dogs fur looks very effective and captures a kind of humble and god like feel. This image was caught at just the right moment of the focal point howling, which made the photo so much more effective.
